Western Azerbaijan Community
The West Azerbaijan Community criticized the speech of the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in the general discussions of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
"We condemn Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's speech at the general discussions of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, which violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and interfered in its internal affairs.”
The statement says it is hypocritical for Minister Mirzoyan to accuse Azerbaijan of allegedly threatening the territorial integrity of Armenia instead of explaining the illegal deployment of the armed forces of Armenia on the territory of Azerbaijan.
“We would like to remind that 8 villages of Gazakh and Sadarak regions of Azerbaijan are still under the occupation of Armenia and about 10,000 inhabitants of those villages have not been able to return to their homes for 30 years. Armenia has not yet taken necessary steps to meet its responsibility for occupying 20 per cent of Azerbaijani territories, expelling about one million Azerbaijanis, killing more than 20,000 Azerbaijani civilians, destroying about a thousand Azerbaijani towns and villages,” the community stressed.
Regarding the Armenian minister's claim of alleged "humanitarian problems" in Azerbaijan's Garabagh region and the proposal to send a UN inter-agency mission there, the community emphasized that Armenia should accept responsibility for the occupation, massacre, ethnic cleansing, and destruction committed against Azerbaijan and support the Azerbaijani government's re-integration and reconstruction work in Garabagh.
“The country to which the UN inter-agency mission should go is Armenia. It should be recalled that in April of this year, we appealed to the Secretary General of the UN to send the UN inter-agency mission to Armenia to help the process of safe and dignified return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia. However, since the Armenian government did not agree, it was not possible to send the mission there,” it added.
Mirzoyan's call for "withdrawal of the Azerbaijani army and law enforcement agencies from settlements in Garabagh " and "deployment of UN-mandated peacekeeping forces in Garabagh " is an extremely irresponsible and dangerous statement, the statement stressed.
The fact that Armenia consistently asserts its sovereignty and territorial integrity as "red lines" and calls on Azerbaijan to withdraw from its sovereign territories demonstrates that official Yerevan has a territorial claim against Azerbaijan, but it is now forced to conceal it under a different name.
“When he says ‘peacekeeping forces mandated by the UN’, the Armenian minister probably means the crude dream of placing the mission of the European Union in Armenia on the territory of Azerbaijan. It is clear that countries such as the European Union, France, and Germany put this in Mirzoyan's speech.
Armenia should know that peace cannot be achieved by relying on crusaders like Marina Kaljurand, and Natalie Loiseau, countries like France, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, Louis Ocampo's doodles, and Snoop Dogg's tweets and continuing their ugly policy against Azerbaijan.
Mirzoyan's speech shows that dashnak and cave-minded Armenian diplomats are not only an obstacle to peace and reconciliation in the region, but also one of the main reasons why Armenia has been a ‘failed state’ for these 30 years.
Speaking about democracy, we remind the Armenian minister of the recent civil war, police violence and mass detentions in Armenia.
We demand that the Armenian government immediately stop the plot against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, interfere in its internal affairs, liberate the 8 occupied villages of Azerbaijan, to create conditions for the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia, and for this purpose, to agree to the sending of the UN interagency mission to Armenia," the community pointed out.
