The United Nations (UN) Secretariat has distributed the address of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the II International Conference "The Right of Return: Ensuring Justice for Azerbaijanis Forcibly Expelled from Armenia", held in Baku on 5-6 December 2024, and the final document of the conference as official documents of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

The distribution of the address of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the conference, who always keeps the issue of the return of Western Azerbaijanis to their native lands in the spotlight, as an official UN document is of particular importance in terms of raising the profile of the topic of Western Azerbaijan on the international agenda.

Similarly, the distribution of the final document of the conference as an official UN document was an effective step in terms of international recognition of the West Azerbaijan Community as an authoritative organization and dissemination of the results of the conference among the international community. The distribution of these documents significantly contributes to the recognition of this annual international conference as one of the most important platforms of the international community in the field of the right of return and international humanitarian law in general.

It should be noted that with the dissemination of the above documents, the number of documents published as official UN documents at the initiative of the Community has reached ten.

The Western Azerbaijan Community will continue to include the issue of peaceful, safe and dignified return on the agenda of international structures. The Community once again calls on the Armenian government to abandon the policy of racial discrimination initiated by its predecessors, to fulfill its obligations under international law, to create conditions for the return of Western Azerbaijanis and to this end to begin a dialogue with the Western Azerbaijan Community.
