“According to the disseminated information, representatives of municipalities of a number of regions of France, including the city of Paris, will try to commit a provocation on August 30 in the zone of the conditional border with Armenia in the direction of Lachin District of Azerbaijan.

“This adventure, organized by the racist, Azerbaijani-phobe Anne Hidalgo and the radical representative of the Armenian community in France, Jean Barseghian, allegedly pursues the goal of providing `humanitarian assistance’ to the Armenians living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan” 

“Humanitarian issues are of no interest to these individuals and the French government is the true organizer of this provocation. If they were interested in the fate of people, they would have protested against the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, against the ethnic cleansing of more than a million Azerbaijanis, the killing of more than 20,000 civilians, and the destruction of 900 Azerbaijani settlements.

“France's goal is to further aggravate the situation in the region, impede the reintegration of Armenians living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, and the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The community of Western Azerbaijan calls on France to refrain from this cheap provocation, not to impede the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and to support the return of Azerbaijanis, expelled from Armenia,” the statement adds.
