Statement on the anti-Azerbaijani position of Joseph Borrell
21 June 2024, 14:01

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borel, has once again demonstrated his anti-Azerbaijani position.

J. Borell, answering a question from members of the European Parliament, tried to intervene in the work of the court, demanding the release of a group of separatists, whose hands were stained with the blood of the Azerbaijani people, detained in Azerbaijan on suspicion of committing a serious crime. Moreover, although the EU representative rejected Azerbaijan's proposal for reintegration and spoke about the return of Armenians resettled from Karabakh, he did not say a word about the right of return of Azerbaijanis forcibly expelled from Armenia.

All this demonstrates the bias and double standards of Joseph Borell. This approach seriously harms the image of the European Union in Azerbaijani society.

The Western Azerbaijan Community called on the European Union (EU) to abandon its prejudices against Azerbaijan, not to impede the peace process and to support the peaceful, safe and dignified return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia.
