The Community of Western Azerbaijan calls on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to refrain from false propaganda, slander and manipulation against Azerbaijan.
Commenting on Nikol Pashinyan's August 11 statement, the Community of Western Azerbaijan emphasizes that it is Armenia, which had held Azerbaijani territories under occupation for 30 years, carried out ethnic cleansing and genocide against Azerbaijanis, that is an obstacle to establishing peace in the region.
“Unfortunately, the `democrat’ Nikol Pashinyan continued the policy of his predecessors and undermined the negotiation process with the statement `Karabakh is Armenia and that’s it’, which he voiced in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
“The fact that Armenia, which for 30 years not only ignored UN Security Council resolutions but even prided itself on occupation, and now pins its hopes on an unsubstantiated piece of paper from a man with a dark past named Luis Ocampo, is a prime example of the deplorable state in which the official Yerevan got. We call on the Armenian prime minister to refrain from false propaganda, slander and manipulation against Azerbaijan on the topic of `genocide’.
“The community of Western Azerbaijan believes that if the Armenian prime minister is really interested in peace, then, first of all, he should put an end to such utopian and provocative ideas as `Baku-Khankandi dialogue within the framework of the international mechanism’.
“We perceive this as a continuation of Armenia's territorial claims against Azerbaijan. We urge Nikol Pashinyan not to interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, not to delay the process of peace negotiations under various artificial pretexts, and to start a dialogue with us to discuss the issue of the return of Western Azerbaijanis,” the community said.
