A Western Azerbaijan Television correspondent asked a question to the current OSCE Chairman, Minister of Foreign, European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta, Jan Borg, during his joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The correspondent informed about the expulsion of more than 300 thousand Azerbaijanis from the territory of Armenia during the last wave of deportations in 1987-1991, their attempts to institutionalize in the West Azerbaijan Community and return peacefully, safely and with dignity to their homes within the framework of international law. Noting with regret that Armenia is ignoring the calls of the West Azerbaijan Community for dialogue, he asked what Malta has done as OSCE Chairmanship to bring back the Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia.
The correspondent also presented a letter from the West Azerbaijan Community to the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
In response, the OSCE Chairman spoke general words, saying that he wishes peace for Azerbaijan and Armenia.
