The statement by a group of Members of the European Parliament calling on Azerbaijan to release “all Armenian prisoners” is regarded by us as ignoring and encouraging Armenia’s occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan, the ethnic cleansing it committed, and war crimes.
It is stated that achieving peace is impossible without ensuring justice. The individuals of Armenian origin who have in recent days been sentenced to punishment in the form of imprisonment had, since the end of the last century, been the bearers and executors of the “miatsum” ideology, which doomed an entire region to endless tragedies and also led to the deportation of us, Western Azerbaijanis, from our ancestral lands.
Members of the European Parliament, instead of interfering in the internal affairs of a sovereign country and leveling slanderous accusations against it, should provide public support for the return of Western Azerbaijanis, who suffered from the bloody deeds of the above-mentioned individuals, to their native homes in Armenia.
