Statement on the blatant discrimination of the G7 countries against Azerbaijan
19 April 2024, 20:43

Although a call was made to Azerbaijan regarding the provision of right of return of so-called "refugees" in the statement at the end of the meeting of heads of foreign policy departments of countries of the Group of Seven (G7) in Capri city of Italy on April 17-19, 2024, similar make was not made to Armenia on provision of right of return of the Azerbaijanis, expelled from the country.

This is ethnic and religious discrimination against Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia. The West Azerbaijan Community has repeatedly appealed to all states represented in the G7, as well as the European Union, with a request to support the right of Azerbaijanis to return to Armenia. In this case, blatant discrimination on the part of the G7 is contrary to human rights and harms the process of normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.

The Western Azerbaijan Community calls on the G7 states to respect the principle of equal rights and dignity of all people, regardless of their ethnic and religious origin, not to discriminate against Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia and to respect their right of return.
